Five questions a family should ask before buying
- What does the school run look like on their own two feet? The older the children get, the more it is worth that they can get there themselves.
- Where are the after-school activities? Football, swimming, riding — it adds up to more journeys than you think.
- How many parking spaces do you need? Two cars is common in families outside Fuengirola centre, and a garage space is not a given.
- Are there children in the building or urbanisation? Many complexes are dominated by pensioners and stand half empty out of season.
- What applies to school places and empadronamiento? Ask the school and the town hall directly, and do it early.
